Does MOHS provide mental health support?

Modified on Tue, Jun 30 at 1:10 PM

MOHS does not provide mental health counseling or therapy services. Our Academic Counselors are academic support professionals who help students navigate challenges that may be impacting their academic success through a whole-child lens.

Academic counselors work with students to:

  • Identify academic barriers
  • Develop support plans
  • Provide guidance
  • Connect students with appropriate resources when needed

They collaborate closely with student advisors and student support specialists to ensure students receive the appropriate level of academic support.

If a student requires more intensive social-emotional or mental health intervention, we may encourage families to access outside mental health services in their local area.

All MOHS staff are trained to respond to student safety concerns and are responsible for following established crisis response and mandatory reporting procedures when needed.

If you or your student are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area for immediate support.
